Last year I was pleased to meet with publican from across the town to discuss the restrictions placed on the hospitality industry. One of their main complaints was that they had not been provided with any evidence to support these restrictions.

A recent report by the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC), of which I am a member, called for greater transparency of the data the Government uses to make important health decisions.

Local hospitality and creative businesses have told me of their frustration with the lack of transparency in the Government’s decision-making process. The Government should urgently publish the data that supports their decision to keep hospitality businesses closed after April 12th.
