It was a pleasure to meet with Committee members of Guru Nanak Gurdwara on Dallow Road and to get a sneak peek at their new purpose-built gurdwara currently under construction.
The new building will house both the holy room and community kitchen area, as well as other rooms for education and wedding preparations. It Will be very impressive and I look forward to returning once finished.
I also paid a visit to Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat (Sikh gurdwara). It was humbling to hear how they have supported our Luton community during the pandemic by providing hundreds of hot meals each day, working with many other community groups across Luton, supporting those in need.
A key part of Sikhism is the langar, the community kitchen of a gurdwara run by volunteers, which serves meals to all free of charge, regardless of background.
