Luton Station
Luton Station

Note: my petition to oppose the closure of Luton Station’s ticket office is now closed.

I’ve launched a petition to oppose the closure of Luton Station’s ticket office.

On Wednesday 5 July 2023, a public consultation was launched on behalf of rail operators across the country about how tickets are sold, and the potential closure of over 1,000 ticket offices – including at Luton Station.

I am concerned about the impact this proposal will have on the ability to buy tickets, accessibility, passenger safety, and the job security of staff. We must not let the Conservative Government oversee the managed decline of our railways.

Sign my petition to the Secretary of State for Transport, Mark Harper MP, by clicking the button below. Please sign and share.

I have already raised this issue in Parliament, you can watch here. I have also written to the Secretary of State for Transport, you can read my letter here.

It’s important that as many local voices are heard as possible. You can download my draft objection letter here. You can use all or a section of the letter, it can also be adapted to add your own comments on the proposal. The public consultation will only run for three weeks, closing 1 September 2023.

You can respond to the consultation by emailing your response to: gntl.consultation@londontravelwatch.org.uk
